Ragunan Zoo with many stories
The Ragunan Wildlife Park was founded on September 19, 1864 in Batavia (now Jakarta) under the name "Planten en Dierentuin", originally by the Culture Vereniging Planten en Dierentuin at Batavia. It was managed. The park occupies an area of 10 hectares at 73 Jalan Chikini Raya, donated by Raden Saleh, a prominent Indonesian painter. After Indonesia's independence, the name was changed to Cikini Zoo in 1949.
With the development of Jakarta, Cikini is
no longer suitable for exhibiting animals. 1964 During his tenure at DCI
Jakarta, Dr. Soemarno went to Pasar Minggu, Jl. Cikini Raya No. 73 South
Jakarta. D.H.E.W. Ambo, DKI Jakarta Government donated 30 hectares of land in
Ragunan, Pasarming. Distance is approximately 20km from the city center. The
move from Cikini Zoo to Ragunan brought over 450 animals. This is the last
collection left at the Chikini Zoo. Ragunan Zoo was officially opened under the
name of Ragunan Wildlife Park by DKI (Special Capital Territory) Governor Major
General Ali Sadikin on June 22, 1966. In 1974, Ragunan Wildlife Park was
established by Benjamin Galstown. managed. time.
In 1983 he changed his name to Ragunan Zoo
Management Agency, in 2001 to Ragunan Wildlife Park Office and in 2009 he
changed his name to UPT (Technical Service Unit) Ragunan Wildlife Park. In 2010
the name was changed to BLUD (Regional Public Service Agency) Ragunan Wildlife
Park. Currently, Ragunan Wildlife Park covers an area of 147 hectares and
houses 2101 animals of 220 species.
In 2015, Ragunan Wildlife Park BLUD changed
its name to the Ragunan Wildlife Park Management Office pursuant to Local
Ordinance No. 12 of 2014 on Local Equipment Organization.
